Giovanni Solari, Honorary Professor at Central South University. He is currently Professor of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering at the University of Genoa, Italy. He is the head of the Wind Tunnel Laboratory. Professor Solari is an internationally renowned expert in aerodynamics and random vibration, a member of the Italian National Academy of Sciences and the former President of the International Wind Engineering Association. Former President of the Italian Wind Engineering Association, he has in-depth research in wind engineering, structural dynamics, structural safety and reliability, stochastic processes, structural engineering, infrastructure systems, etc.He is also a visiting professor and senior consultant at Beijing Jiaotong University, a visiting professor at the University of Monaco in Montevideo, Uruguay, an adjunct professor at the School of Engineering at the University of Western Ontario, and an honorary professor at the Railway University of Shijiazhuang, China. He graduated from the University of Genoa in 1977. He became a tenured professor at the University of Genoa in 1990. In 2005, he became the dean of the School of Structural and Geotechnical Engineering at the University of Genoa. From 2005, he became the European Institute of Advanced Studies.
